Music for Men
I really enjoy it when a band goes out of their way to do a little something for the fans. The Gossip got extremely creative and made this infomercial for their upcoming 2nd album release, Music For Men out on June 22nd.

Once Upon A Time In America There was a Chef
His name was Raekwon and...you know what, why don't you do a little taste test and see how you like it. So many exquisite flavors and such a story behind such a dish that there is no explanation necessary. All that is left is for you to enjoy and wait for OB4CL2 (Only Built For Cuban Linx 2)Raekwon - Once Upon a Time in America
Nike Blazer Hi “FC Barcelona”
FC Barcelona is the winner of the UEFA Champions League 2009!!! If you don't care because it is soccer (football), stop being American because it is THE WORLD"S SPORT. This just happened earlier today, yet Nike said whip it out, and out of the proverbial (not used correctly, do not do as I do children) pantaloons that is their giant closet of mock-ups comes the FC Barcelona Blazer Hi. This is just too reminiscent of how the news/media write obituaries for celebrities in advance and i mean years in advance. Not sure why, but it feels unsettling to know that some children may have slaved over some shoes that will never make it to market...On a brighter note, atleast they look damn fly.link

A life of nothing but "Awesome Snow Fun"
I know we are in summer mode right now, well at least I am, but in some parts of the world there is always a winter wonder land to be had. The life of snowboarders is something that I truly envy. No other sports in the world pays you to hang out with friends and mess around. It seems that somehow throughout the years, even skateboarding has become a true commercial business and less a public disturbance.Dare I say snowboarding awaits the same ill-fated future as a red haired menace ravages through the land. Nope, I darest not, because even the commercial success of Shaun White can not defunk the group mentality that is snowboarding. It seems to me, that the rest of the snowboarders aren't in it for the fame (not going to say or the money cause we gotta eat, we hungry), but rather live their life just for that simple thrill. It's times like this I question why I never learned.

Married to the Mob Summer 2009: Lost Summer
“I wanted to create a collection that was nostalgic of the Summer, that totally turned me into a bad girl. First kiss, first joint, first 40 ounce. Might sound silly but it changed my life. Every girl had that summer. If they didn’t then they missed out.” - Married to the Mob’s LeahI can't even stress it enough. If I were a girl, I wouldn't hesitate to get myself in some of this. So fresh and just so well done. I don't want to be married to the MOB, but if it's these queen bees, then life wouldn't be too bad.
Welcome to Graduation

Alright guys, so I'm here to tell you about a new line of clothing in production along with some horribly hurried freehands I've laid down. The basic idea here is shirts that offer your college of choice's name in the most unconventional way possible, offering absolutely no explanation to the less cunning witnesses to this torsoic phenomena. Here's a quick mock up of Rice, Dartmouth, and Carnegie Mellon. If any explanation is needed, just keep thinking. We know you can do it. There's a good ten more to be on the way (with, of course, careful final drafts), but if you have a college, no matter how absurdly difficult it may seem, hand it over to the word players over here at UMi and we'll work with you. Coming soon to a quad near you.

The Odd Couple: Mrs. Lewis (Part 4)
love the background track
Cold War Kids - I've Seen Enough (Interactive video)
Following in the foot steps of Black Moth Super Rainbow for their song "Dark Bubbles", The Cold War Kids have decided to shoot an interactive video and quite the impressive one I must say. The "video" has all 4 of the band members playing their parts of "I've See Enough" on a dark stage each illuminated by a different color light. The interactive part comes in when you click on the members, which allows you to turn them on or off. What I just figured out is that above each member is a color and each color corresponds to a different instrument they can play. This gives you control as to which of the 4 parts of the song you want to hear and how you want to hear it. You can make the song your own. Piano, guitar, vocals, drums, cello, keyboard, it is all up to you. Personally I enjoy the sound of the xylophone. Its a great concept and one of the better things MTV (Yes, MTV!) has done in the past decade. Check it out here.

WOOD (Dirty Melody) by McBess
I think the video is pretty self explanatory...Rock! It Reminds me of something that would be done by Queens of the Stoneage, but substitute all the band members with werewolf/bear-people.

How to do "Spring Line" 101

Here it is! The flagship and first design of our spring line. "Rocket Love" by Nick Villano. Here's a first glimpse of its early stages. My idea is to top this off with a wake of graffiti-esque fire and motion waves behind it, possibly centering from a heart or something. We're going to get some really vibrant colors on there, some shading and it'll be looking crisp soon. Send us your feedback and ideas as this thing progresses and get excited to be able to get your hands on some UMi products soon.

“The Great Petition” Remastered
Aussie skater Lance Pattison skated and landed a tre flip (360 flip) on “The Great Petition”, a sculpture designed by Susan Hewitt and Penelope Lee created to resemble the petition of 30,000 signatures offered to the Victorian Parliament in 1891 as evidence of widespread support for equal voting rights for women. The hoe's, I suppose...
I know a lot of you have been jammin' out to "Best I ever had" ladies, but just here me out on this gentlemen and look past the fact that he was on Degrassi. I feel like Drake is the next Cudi. The album's got the same vibe. It's slowed up, got some slow jams and it really speaks. It feels like time was put in and it definitely shows. The rhymes are on point. Oh yeah, did I fail to mention that it features the likes of Lil' Wayne, Llyod, Santo Gold, Bun B, Trey Songz, and Omarion! He even raps over the Kanye beat for "Say you will" and callin' his joint "Say whats real". I just hope you paid your royalties for that beat because you don't want to be going toe-to-toe with Kanye right now. Hahah just kidding, Much support! One more thing, the mixtape if free!Monday, May 18, 2009

Future Vintage
That is what I would title artists like Jamie Lidell and Mark Ronson. Mayer Hawthorne or Andrew Mayer Cohen is not different. Titled as one of URB Magazine's next 100, Hawthorne developed his demo as a jest for friends and family. Growing up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, just outside of Detroit, caused Hawthorne to be greatly influenced by the rich soul and jazz history that he encountered at a young age. Now, at the age of 29 this vinyl junkie has been signed to Stones Throw Records and has put out two LP's. Check him out!link

He is only 10!
Say hello to Alex Midler. If I am not mistaken, this kid is only ten, and I say kid with the utmost respect because he has got some serious skills that will easily pay the bills in the future. He has already picked up sponsorship from Etnies, Volcom, and even Almost. Keep kickin' kid!

Ryan McGinley + aNYthing
One of my all time favorite artists, Ryan McGinley, has teamed up with the good people at aNYthing to produce the cat t-shirt. I'm not sure what the relevence of the shirt is, but I am sure it is some kind of inside joke between McGinley and the aNYthing crew and that it is quite funny judging by the looks of McGinley. No word on the release date of the shirt but keep a look out. Check out some more of his work below.

Up, Up, and Away!
Oover the past decade Disney has done an amazing job with their animated films. Their last film, Up!, before their departure back into 2D animation ( The Princess and the Frog) is no exception. It was the first animated opening film in Festival De Cannes history. It looks beautiful just as sketches. If you haven't seen the trailer yet, you can check it out here, along with some teaser videos aptly titled UPisodes.
