What we do and how we do it so well

Tired of t-shirts that are uncomfortable and don't fit individual personalities, we were searching for something fresh and unique. We finally found what we were looking for but the brands that sold the clothing were high end, exclusive, and expensive. So, with this in mind, we made it our goal to solve this problem as well as others and create a high-end, exclusive, and inexpensive clothing brand that would cater to the consumer. Masculine, Feminine, Black, White, Purple, Green or whatever you want to call it, we are a little bit of everyone and everything. We represent hype beasts, sneaker heads, high society, the fashionable, the jocks, fixie fiends, the British, the world traveler, trend-setters, the consumer and whomever else you can think of. We are a little cocky and we have the vision, but to be in the business of making clothing you have to be a little out there. To put it in perspective...we are not out there, we are right here and we are right now.
Great personal style is made up of a certain percentage of "always" items and methods, mixed with a certain percentage of "sometimes" fashions, and a certain percentage of "nevers". -Scott Schuman

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Let's start it off with a Bang!

UNDR-CRWN Winter Collection 2008

UNDR-CRWN is simply just too cool. Brrrrrrr!

There's and Elephant on the loose

There is a new Vampire Weekend in town and they go by the name of Cheers Elephant. The band is composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Derek Krzywicki, bassist Travelin' Mat, lead guitarist Jordan del Rosario, and drummer Roberto Kingston. I'll let you form your own opinion this time. If you are in the Philly area, there is an album release party January 17 at the North Star. Enjoy!

Here are two stand out tracks, Wide Eyed and Mr. Marvelous

The Thundercats Movie

In times like this of countless re-makes, prequels and sequels, it is really refreshing to see that some one wants movies to be made right. By now, a lot of you have probably heard rumors of a Thundercats movie being made. Well in fact it is very possible but not a done deal just yet. The closest thing to a clue that the movie will actually be made is a character model which we assume is Panthero (the black one). There isn't even a studio that has signed on to pick it up yet or a casting call done. So the amazing thing is how WormyTV has actually made a trailer for a movie that doesn't exist. It actually looks better than the Street Fighter, Dragon Ball, and Speed Racer trailers combined. It really looks like a movie I would pay $10 (a night showing) to go see it in theaters, which says a whole lot these days. WormyTV created the movie trailer using clips from various movies starring Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman and Vin Diesel. The effects were done frame by frame in Photoshop and the footage was edited in Adobe Premiere. A really great feat, that returns my faith in the movies.

Something, Puerto Rico fresh

Just a little graffiti and stickers I saw while walking the street of Old San Juan. If you saw me wild in the streets, give me a shout out in the comments. Don't forget, "Step Your Game Up!"

DJ AM’s Nike Air Yeezy

If you are asking yourself why this, the answer is because it is only the most hyped up Nike sneakers to date. DUh/? Anyways, When they drop I'm getting myself 20 per. Pics below of the Yeezy himself drawing up his design.

Check out more pics at nice kicks
For those who want to know more, go get cultured with an intro

I Love MGMT

Its a shame I didn't really appreciate them when i saw them live this summer at Lollapalooza. Now, I really just can't get enough. So if you haven't seen the videos which are completely ridiculous, this will be a sure treat. "Electric Feel" is like drinking a gallon of Jungle Juice and "The Youth" is...well just watch it.

Get your photographer on my apple people

Get excited because that crap camera on the iPhone with no zoom (damn you slick design) can now have its capabilities expanded with help from the Magnetic Lens Mount from USB Fever. At $17 USD this is a steal given the pricing under 20 and the size. The magnetic ring sticks to the plastic iPhone. Now here comes the fun part! You get a choice of the lens that attaches magnetically to the ring. Fisheye, wide angle, or telephoto, choose your poison. finally to pour some gravy on that cake, each lens comes with a key chain strap so that you don't loose your mini lens arsenal.

Street Fighter IV Box Set

Yes, that's right IV, as in you will need an iv because you will never leave your room again. Haha you see how I did that. I kid I kid. But seriously, this is a real big deal to gamers and especially true fighting game fanatics (like myself). so here's the scoop:
  • priced at $79.99 USD for PS3 and XBOX 360
  • A limited-edition figurine – Ryu in the PS3 and C. Viper in the XBOX 360
  • Street Fighter IV: The Ties That Bind (65 minute anime movie) - BluRay disc in the PS3 and a game disc that outputs at 720P in the XBOX 360
  • A mini-strategy guide from Prima
  • CD soundtrack
  • secret additional downloadable content
  • complete character roster (console exclusive characters)
If anyone really loves me I will get this for my 19th along with a Street Fighter IV joystick

Time to learn a little about Kid Cudi

Hustler Watch: Kid Cudi from Eighty81 on Vimeo.

I know you have already heard from my dude Kid Cudi, but just in case you have not been blessed by his glory, check out this interview done by the Eighty81. You really get some insight into who he really is and just how far he has come. Yeah it sounds like every rapper's story, but he is not just some other rapper. His style is too laid back to be labeled just as that. he is simply something else...

P.S. If this is your first encounter with the Kid, you may want this

Tuka likes it here too

I don't think Tuka wants to leave either, but all good things
eventually have to come to an end.

Arecibo, Puerto Rico

It's just too nice here

Passion Pit - Sleepy Head

You are all probably sick of the whiny samples used by Kanye West (much love), T-pain, Jamie Foxx and other musical talents. Well not T-Pain, but here is something so fresh and appealing. I may be a little late on this jump since I let it go under the radar a couple months ago, but this song is just so ill, you have to give it a couple play counts. Keep it fresh!

Umi (Prototype)

So here it is...your first taste of Ursa, hot and sticky, right off the presses. Here's Umi bear, our mascot, in his preliminary stages. Think of him and a lot of what we do as Homestar Runner meets Kid Robot, if that helps you. And yes, before you ask, that is in fact Brad Pitt. Undertones galore.

Ubiq x Jun Watanabe Fatima

To me this shoe has been done just right. It is attention grabbing but has just enough subtle details. A true stunner. I'm a big fan of Ubiq shoes, but never buy them cause I don't want to pay the shipping from across the pond. Cheapo

A Week In Pictures

In this week's installment of "AWIP" we got pictures from the Big Apple. If you haven't been to Soho, NYC then you have done yourself a grave disservice. You have missed out on the one part of New York with the most fashion, style, and personal presence. Sometimes its hard not to loose yourself. Home to clothing brands from SUPREME, Kid Robot, BAPE, and BBC to Gucci, Luis Vuitton, and Marc Jacobs (which is quite difficult to find). Last week I had the privilege of roaming those street with Soho B and Kevin. I'm not sure if any store was left un-seen. We even found a new spot that I think every person visiting the city or living in the city should experience. Its called Kiosk and just like Seinfeld, it is a store about nothing. Check out the picks and when you finish, head on over to Kiosk and check out what they have fore sale.

Kodi Baer, Over and Out/?

In the beginning there was nothing. And then...

Hey, everyone. Welcome to Ursa Major, our privately operated t-shirt company that is dedicated to bringing fashion to the masses, wherever and whoever they may be. What you see now is just the beginning, but there's much more to come. Right now we are perfecting our mascot, tentatively named Umi, to be the face of Ursa, and we hope to update you all with pictures soon.

Right now, several shirts are designed and ready for printing, and we'll have a gallery also up soon so you can see what suits your fancy and if you're feeling what we're doing here. Ursa is made for and by the people, so any and all suggestions and whatnot is appreciated. If you see a shirt you like and want to see more of that style, or less of something, let us know.
