What we do and how we do it so well

Tired of t-shirts that are uncomfortable and don't fit individual personalities, we were searching for something fresh and unique. We finally found what we were looking for but the brands that sold the clothing were high end, exclusive, and expensive. So, with this in mind, we made it our goal to solve this problem as well as others and create a high-end, exclusive, and inexpensive clothing brand that would cater to the consumer. Masculine, Feminine, Black, White, Purple, Green or whatever you want to call it, we are a little bit of everyone and everything. We represent hype beasts, sneaker heads, high society, the fashionable, the jocks, fixie fiends, the British, the world traveler, trend-setters, the consumer and whomever else you can think of. We are a little cocky and we have the vision, but to be in the business of making clothing you have to be a little out there. To put it in perspective...we are not out there, we are right here and we are right now.
Great personal style is made up of a certain percentage of "always" items and methods, mixed with a certain percentage of "sometimes" fashions, and a certain percentage of "nevers". -Scott Schuman

Living Color, Act Two

Here it is. My pride and joy. I've been working (from designing to inking) this design for a good 3 weeks now and it's nearing completion finally. This shirt was done differently than most, I drew the entire thing while listening to music on shuffle from my iTunes. This is my best attempt at making sound, and, to be more specific, music something physical. Although when I first drew this, it was just whatever I felt coming out with no real meaning, I have looked back and realized how each piece feels like a specific type of the music I was listening to. I was going to outline this for you, but decided the entire point of music is interpretation, so I'll let you chew on this for yourself. Hope it's tasty.

Brain Stew

Just a freehand sketch that I'd like to see make the big times some day, probably in the bottom left of a yellow shirt with cartoonish colors.

A possible addition to "Rocket Love" shirt (see below or click "design" label)

Welcome to Graduation

Alright guys, so I'm here to tell you about a new line of clothing in production along with some horribly hurried freehands I've laid down. The basic idea here is shirts that offer your college of choice's name in the most unconventional way possible, offering absolutely no explanation to the less cunning witnesses to this torsoic phenomena. Here's a quick mock up of Rice, Dartmouth, and Carnegie Mellon. If any explanation is needed, just keep thinking. We know you can do it. There's a good ten more to be on the way (with, of course, careful final drafts), but if you have a college, no matter how absurdly difficult it may seem, hand it over to the word players over here at UMi and we'll work with you. Coming soon to a quad near you.

How to do "Spring Line" 101

Here it is! The flagship and first design of our spring line. "Rocket Love" by Nick Villano. Here's a first glimpse of its early stages. My idea is to top this off with a wake of graffiti-esque fire and motion waves behind it, possibly centering from a heart or something. We're going to get some really vibrant colors on there, some shading and it'll be looking crisp soon. Send us your feedback and ideas as this thing progresses and get excited to be able to get your hands on some UMi products soon.

The Kicksperiment

Here's a little taste of how the shoes are coming along. I've mostly been using this first pair as an experiment and just drawing whatever comes to my head, so what you see here, for better or worse, was pretty unplanned. I just grab those Sharpies and go at it, so if you like what you see, let me know and I'll see about popping out a couple more pairs (for a fee). Also, if you know something you'd like me to throw on there rather than just have me go to town, that's totally cool. My only warning is the shoes may take a little time, judging by how these are going and how awkward it is to draw on a shoe.

Taking Things Into My Own Hands

So, after an unfruitful Monday of trying to find a worthy pair of shoes at my local mall, a couple stores, and every online vendor I could find, I was fed up. Everything I found had been done a million times or just wasn't me. I was impressed by some Nike 6.0s I saw in a local Journey's, and always had a sort of secret crush on Onitsukas, but nothing clicked. Then a friend** made me realize, the only way to really get something that's me is to just do it myself. So, in spirit of what we're trying to do here I purchased some waterproof Sharpies and these:
I'm going to be custom designing these things with whatever comes to mind. I was thinking of going with a Sun and Moon kind of design, with one shoe for each side. But the point of this story is that if these shoes turn out aright and you guys like the finished product, I've been considering making custom shoes another service offered by Ursa. Though it might take a little more time to get those out to you since we need to do each by hand, let us know what you think.

UPDATE: After a day of work, here's what I have to show:

I'll be her terrorist and she will be a looter

Just throwing a shirt idea at you guys. This one's called Eye of Fatima. It would get a lot of funky coloring in there and some decoration on the sun rays. I tried to increase the contrast so you could see it better, which made for the creepy lighting. Whoops.

Also, on a side note, all posts involving some sort of shirt design will have the label "design" and "shirt." So if you want to check out what we're offering, just check out those labels.

The First Batch

Shirt 1: Guitargasm

Shirt 2: I (AM) New York
(seen is the AM/heart)

Shirt 3: Acid Bear
(Also: The middle icon the U/M Bear is another potential logo for Ursa)

Shirt 4: Fruit of the Doom

So here's a couple early designs from a while back and recently that will be a part of our first line of shirts. There's much more to come, but here's a sort of feel of where we're going with the company. It's really whatever comes to us. We love what we do and we want you to love it to, so keep the feedback coming.

Colors have yet to be decided, there will most likely be several prints of each shirts in different colors and all that. I'm going to be posting all of my doodles, whatever they may be, just whatever comes to me, on this site, so if you see one you'd like to have emblazoned on your chest, let us know.

Umi (Prototype)

So here it is...your first taste of Ursa, hot and sticky, right off the presses. Here's Umi bear, our mascot, in his preliminary stages. Think of him and a lot of what we do as Homestar Runner meets Kid Robot, if that helps you. And yes, before you ask, that is in fact Brad Pitt. Undertones galore.
